For setting alone Cote on the Bridge is impossible to beat. Sitting directly on the Thames bridge between Windsor and Eton, the views from the terrace are spectacular. If you are staying in our apartment you can actually see this bridge from the back windows, which gives you some idea of how close everything is. Classic French brasserie food, good wine, and a location that genuinely stops people in their tracks. Perfect for a long lazy lunch or a celebratory dinner with the river flowing beneath you.
Al Fassia
One of Windsor’s most loved restaurants and a genuine local institution. Al Fassia serves authentic Moroccan cuisine in a beautifully decorated setting that feels a world away from the English town outside. Locally run with real passion and care, the tagines, couscous dishes and sharing platters are exceptional. The service is warm and unhurried. A brilliant choice for a special evening and one our guests consistently rave about. Do not miss this one.
A La Russe
Sitting further up the hill opposite Windsor Castle, A La Russe offers modern French and world cuisine in a setting that makes the most of its extraordinary location. A more intimate and sophisticated dining experience, ideal for couples or smaller groups looking for something a little different from the usual. Worth every step of the short walk up the hill.
Meimo
Another locally run gem, Meimo offers Moroccan, Mediterranean and meze in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The Royal Windsor
The best pub in town for castle views. Dog friendly garden, great atmosphere, and a menu covering everything from sharing boards to Sunday roasts. The castle walls rising directly behind it make it one of the most atmospheric pubs in England. Just two minutes on foot from our apartment on Thames Street.
Mango Lounge
Windsor’s specialist curry house and a firm favourite with locals. If you are after a proper curry night this is where to go. Flavourful, generous portions, and reliably good every time. Perfect for a relaxed group dinner after a long day exploring the town.
Viceroy of Windsor
Another excellent Indian option and well worth knowing about. The Viceroy of Windsor offers a classic Indian menu with quality ingredients and a comfortable welcoming setting. A great choice when the group cannot agree on anything else, as there is genuinely something for everyone on the menu.
