When you’re choosing somewhere for a break with friends, photographs can show you the rooms and the view. I’d also like you to know a little about the person preparing it for your arrival.
I’m Mary, the host of Consorts & Concubines on Thames Street, directly opposite Windsor Castle. I put a great deal of care into renovating the apartment, and I want guests to enjoy both the place itself and its Windsor setting.
Why Thames Street matters to me
I started this business when the demands of my corporate career no longer fitted the family life I wanted with my three young children. I wanted to build something of my own, doing work I enjoyed while making time for my family.
When I found the property opposite Windsor Castle, it needed renovation. I could see the opportunity to turn it into somewhere I would be proud to welcome guests.
That personal investment continues in how I prepare it for each stay.
The things I check before you arrive
I start with the essentials: thorough cleaning, fresh bed linen and plenty of towels. Then I check that things are in good order and replenish everyday supplies, including tea, coffee and biscuits.
I prepare the welcome information and think about what guests will need when they first walk in. Clear directions and check-in details are part of that preparation too.
These are small, practical things, but they matter when you’ve travelled and want to put your bags down, make a drink and settle in.
Someone to ask
If you have questions about the apartment, the stairs or arrival arrangements, you can ask me before booking. I want you to have the information you need to decide whether it suits your group.
Once you’re here, I’m available for questions. My aim is to provide a welcoming, thoughtfully prepared base, so you and your friends can get on with enjoying your Windsor break.
